Stephanie Kato

Stephanie Kato's practice encompasses a range of intellectual property matters, including patent litigation, patent preparation and prosecution, due diligence, and freedom to operate assessments. Her background in mechanical engineering includes experience with autonomous vehicles, circuit design, control systems, medical devices, robotics, and software development. Stephanie has experience working with experts, drafting briefs, analyzing prior art, and developing arguments to help clients at the International Trade Commission, with patent disputes in district court, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Stephanie's passion for service keeps her actively involved in the firm's pro bono practice, including advocating on behalf of survivors of domestic violence in family law cases.

Prior to attending law school, Stephanie worked as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at Stanford University. Her research focused on obstacle detection controllers and vision systems for self-driving cars.
